Benefits Summary

Health and Dental Insurance
Health and/or dental insurance coverage is available to all full-time employees. Mental Health Services pays 80% of the cost of the premiums.

Flexible Spending Accounts
MHS offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for unreimbursed medical expenses. An employee may set aside up to $1,000 tax free through regular payroll deductions, and during the year be reimbursed directly from his/her FSA for health care expenses not covered by insurance. A dependent care reimbursement account is also available for daycare expenses for eligible children and adults.

Retirement Program
After one year of service, eligible employees receive an annual pension contribution of 6½ percent of annual compensation. Employees are able to select among a variety of investment options based on their personal risk tolerance and retirement goals.

Tax Sheltered Annuity
Employees are able to participate in a 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity. This is a tax-deferred retirement program that allows employees to set aside a portion of their pay on a pre-tax basis to save for retirement. There is no waiting period for this benefit.

Holidays
Full-time employees are eligible for eight (8) paid holidays each year.

Vacation
Both full- and part-time employees are eligible for paid vacation based on length of service and hours worked.

Full-time employees accrue up to two weeks vacation during their first year of employment. Vacation time increases as length of service increases, with a maximum vacation benefit of four (4) weeks after 15 years. Full-time employees with a Master’s level or higher degree accrue four (4) weeks during their first year of employment.

Part-time employees accrue vacation based on a prorated schedule. For example, a part-time employee with a regular work schedule of 20 hours per week would accrue 40 hours of vacation after one year of service.

Personal Leave
Full-time employees may use up to five (5) days paid personal leave each year to handle important personal matters that require their attention during working hours. Personal leave is prorated for part-time staff.

Sick Leave
Full-time employees may accrue up to 15 days of paid sick leave each year. Unused sick leave may be carried over, with a maximum accrual of 120 work days. Sick leave is prorated for part-time staff.

Long-Term Disability
Long-term disability (LTD) insurance is available to full-time employees after a six-month waiting period. The cost of this insurance is shared by the employee and Mental Health Services. LTD pays a percentage of the salary of an employee who is unable to work due to disability.

Life Insurance
Full-time employees are provided with a company-paid term life insurance policy equal to 1½ times their annual salary.

Professional Dues
Mental Health Services will pay the membership dues to one appropriate professional organization each year for each full-time employee.

Tuition Reimbursement
Educational assistance is available for full- and part-time employees who attend an accredited college or university. Course work must be relevant to the employee’s current position or a position to which they may reasonably aspire.
