Supporting Youth This Summer: Youth Challenges Summer Program

As the summer months approach, many families begin thinking about how to keep their children engaged, supported, and connected while school is out of session. At Mental Health Services for Clark & Madison Counties, we are proud to offer our Youth Challenges Summer Program—a structured and supportive opportunity designed to help youth continue growing both socially and emotionally.

The Youth Challenges Summer Program provides a safe and welcoming environment where young people can build important life skills while participating in engaging, age-appropriate activities. Through group interactions and guided support from trained staff, participants have the opportunity to strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and develop positive peer relationships. Youth Challenges is a structured summer treatment program that consists of 3 evidence-based groups for youth and children aged 6-18 (*18 if still enrolled in school).

Summer can be a time of both excitement and challenge for youth. Changes in routine, increased free time, and reduced structure can sometimes lead to increased stress or behavioral concerns. This program is designed to help bridge that gap by offering consistency, connection, and support during the summer months.

This program is offered May 25th – August 14th (*dates subject to change depending on group) from 9AM-2PM, Monday – Friday at 474 N. Yellow Springs St. Springfield, OH 45504.

In addition to our summer programming, Mental Health Services continues to provide a full range of behavioral health services for youth and adults, including outpatient counseling, crisis response services, and prevention programming. With open access available for new clients, individuals and families can quickly connect to the care they need without a referral.
